Minimum Characteristics:

Personal Computer with:
cpu 80386sx, 4Mb of RAM a 640x480 VGA graphicboard, a Hard Disk with at least 5Mb free, a 3.5'' - 1,44Mb floppy disk driver, a Microsoft Mouse or compatible, a black/white monitor, VGA compatible. Basic Software: MSDOS 3.3 - MS Windows 3.1


Systems supplied by matec and suggested characteristics:

Personal Computer with:
cpu 80386sx, 4Mb of RAM a 640x480 VGA graphicboard with 256 colours shown simultaneously on the screen, 120Mb Hard Disk (or bigger), 3.5'' - 1,44Mbytes floppy disk driver, Microsoft Mouse or compatible, colour monitor, VGA compatible.
Basic software: MSDOS rel. 6.2 or superior - MS Windows 3.1 or superior

Software for programming the style

  • MATEC Work Bench

MATEC Work Bench - Integrated and homogeneous working environment containing all tools necessary to:

draw pattern - create styles
define the machine parameters
trasmit data to the machines
create a file of patterns and styles


Style Editor - To define the machine cycle (style and size) by means of:

existing styles, from which it is possible to derive new styles and then make necessary modifications
collection of pre-defined stocking areas (called DEFAULTS), created and tested by MATEC.
creation, memorization and use of personalised stocking areas.
easy definition of all the parameters, i.e.: speed is programmed in Rpm, length in cm or inch, etc.
specific environment to program basic selections or direct access to the graphic stitch editor
direct transfer of the style to the machine, connected by cable, for an immediate trial
automatisms to ease the programming procedures and check of programmed data
check during the trasmission to the machine or while creating the floppy disk for the UFD.


The style editor is easily configurable for the specific machines, using proper Configuration files supplied by MATEC.

Terminal and UFD emulation - TFD - To emulate, on a personal computer:

VIDEO TERMINAL (VDT) used for the style programming of some machines produced by MATEC.
UFD device, to save data on floppy disks

cpu pentium 133Mhz or superior, 16Mb RAm, 1024x768 SVGA graphic board with 256 colours shown simultaneously on the screen, 1Gbytes Hard Disk (or bigger), 3.5'' - 1,44Mb floppy disk driver, Microsoft Mouse or compatiblke, 17'' colour monitor VGA compatible.

MATEC Work Bench

Free Graphic Editor - To create any kind of pattern, regardless the machine model, using fast and powerful tools to:

draw patterns with a maximum of 256 coloursat the same time
define colours palettes
draw pattrns with several levels of zoom, displaying at the same time the image at its normal dimension
use of mouse or graphic tablet
trace a copy of any draw, with an easy scale definition
aquire patterns from scanner
import patterns from standard formats (.BMP, .GIF, .TIF files)
import patterns from DINEMA graphic systems (.DIS, .PIC files)
import patterns from any other system, running under MS Windows.


Stitch Editor - To create patterns for a specific machine model, with the possibility to:

use the same tools of the Free Graphic Editor
associate to each colour a particular needle selection
get a real view of the pattern as it will be knitted by the machine
transfer patterns to the machine, connected by cable, for an immediate trial



COMPATIBILITY WITH THE LONATI/DINEMA SYSTEMS

Matec Software applications can be installed on any Personal Computer supplied by Lonati or DInema, just make sure that the PC characteristics satisfies the minimum ones previously described.


Matec graphic systems imports patterns created either on the actual LONATI/DINEMA graphic systems (.DIS files or .BMP files) or the previous LUMENA graphic system (.PIC files).
